Marlene Buttry

Marlene M. Buttry, 77, went to be with the Lord at 9:49 am, Friday, November 30, 2012 at Alton Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Alton, April 28, 1935, the daughter of the late Kenneth J. and Mildred G. (Vahle) Curry.

She married Wayne G. Buttry on February 6, 1953. He survives.

Marlene was and is, one of the most giving, caring, and loving individual God ever created.  She was a housewife most of her life. She was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of East Alton.

She will be sorely missed by her husband, two sons and their spouses; John and Linda Buttry and Robert and Diane Buttry, two grandsons; Jess and his wife Lanie Buttry and Brett Buttry, three great grandchildren; Dax, Paisley, and Hope, a brother and his wife; Jay and Joyce Curry and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Curry and a sister, Ruth Stewart.

Visitation will be Tuesday December 4, 2012 from 10 am until time of service at 1 pm at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, IL with Rev. Dan Powers officiating.

Burial will follow at the Upper Alton Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the 1st United Methodist Church of East Alton or a charity of one’s choice.
