Marlene Blumberg

Marlene L. Blumberg, age 88 of Marine, IL, died Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Highland Health Care Center in Highland, IL.

She was born on Monday, February 3, 1936, in Alhambra, IL, the daughter of Virgil and Viola (nee Bade) Daiber.

On Saturday, September 10, 1955, she married Eldon E. Blumberg at Salem United Church of Christ, Alhambra, Illinois, who passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2007.

She was a member of United Church of Christ of Marine, Marine, IL and Salem United Church of Christ-Alhambra, IL.

Mrs. Blumberg was born in Alhambra, grew up there and graduated from Highland High School, in 1954. She worked for 4-5-6 Automotive, now called McGinley's Automotive and retired from there. She also helped her daughter with Parkview Cafe, Marine. She moved to Hitz Home in 2019. She enjoyed baking cookies, muffins and many other treats, plus canning tomatoes and salsa. She liked watching butterflies and hummingbirds.

Great Grandchild - Judson E. Curry, Deer Park, TX.

She was preceded in death by:
Father - Virgil M. Daiber - Died 12/19/1981
Mother - Viola K. Daiber, nee Bade - Died 5/08/1964
Husband - Eldon E. Blumberg - Died 6/10/2007.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Interment will be at Marine Cemetery in Marine, IL, at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or United Church of Christ of Marine, Marine, IL.
