Markus DeShawn Anderson, 43, received eternal rest Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 6:55 a.m. at OSF Saint Anthony's Health Center of Alton.
Markus was born July 21st, 1973 in Alton, Illinois to Venettia Anderson.
He received his education in the Alton Public School District, where he excelled in football and was a standout athlete. His love for football provided him many opportunities: college scholarships, playing for a semi pro league, and coaching the Junior Red Birds in their undefeated 2016 season.
In 2001, Markus married Antoinette Malone and to that union two children were born.
Markus was also member of the Ruff Ryders Motorcycle Club in South Bend, Indiana; he had a passion for riding, stunts and being on the open road.
He was preceded in death by: his great grandmother Alberta Anderson and grandmother, Gloria Anderson.
Those left to cherish his memories: include his mother, Venettia Anderson- Stiff; grandmother, Earlinn Anderson of Alton, IL; grandfather Eddie Anderson Jr. of Fairview Heights IL; five children: Montaves Anderson of Newport Beach CA, DaKirra Anderson of Seattle Washington, Malcom Anderson,  Andrew Anderson and LeMari Booker of South Bend Indiana; 11 siblings, Kelan Anderson, Lakeisha Anderson, Leah Anderson, Dana Holliday-Williams, Ursula Patterson, Starla(Ray) Liner-Alexander (Ray Alexander) and Deta Robinson of Alton IL, Terence Holliday Sr. (Constance Holliday)  and Royal Anderson of Granite City, IL; special sister, Rhonda Cox of St. Louis MO and Kyle Dickerson of Edwardsville, IL; special brother, T.J. Callahan; uncle Eddie Anderson III of Alton IL; special cousin, Barry Anderson; Best friends Joseph Anderson, Marcus Cox and Marlon (TJ) Jackson and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
Visitation will convene Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Deliverance Temple C.O.G.I.C. Joshua Beard will officiate. Cremation rites accorded. Online register is available at www.harrisonfuneralchapel.com
