Mark Tash

Mark Steven Tash, 52, died at 3:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Willow Rose Rehab & Health Center in Jerseyville.

He was born on December 1, 1964 in Jerseyville to the late Lynn E. & Marjorie (Gaither) Tash.

Mark was raised in Godfrey along with his siblings until the death of his father when Mark was a teenager, at which time he returned to Jerseyville with his mother.

He worked many odd jobs as a teenager until his disability no longer allowed him the opportunity to work. Throughout the many trials and tribulations of his own life, Mark always remained in good spirits and would go out of his way to help others in any way he could. He was a lover of animals and enjoyed spending time with his family and will be remembered as a genuinely kind and caring person by all who loved and knew him.

Surviving are a brother, Phillip Tash of Bethalto; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Linda & Gary Whitley and Suzanne Hildred, all of Jerseyville;  three nieces and their spouses, Carrie & Darren Floyd; Chrissie Sims; Casey & Brad Ambrose, all of Bethalto; two nephews, Josh & Jeremy Jones  of Jerseyville; several great-nieces and nephews; as well as cousins, Mike & Debbie Bader of Jerseyville and Deborah Heaton of Roodhouse.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lynn E. Tash; his mother, Marjorie Morris; a sister-in-law, Sharon Tash; his great-niece, Tosha Floyd; and four cousins, Johnny Bader, Carmelyn Calvert; JoAnne Gaither and Deanna Herron.

Private family services were held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Jerseyville.

Memorials may be given to Riverbend Humane Society in care of the funeral home.

Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville was in charge of arrangements.
