Mark Anthony Stassi, 63, passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024 at his home.
Born March 8, 1960 in Alton, he was the son of Samuel John and Opal Janette (Sauls) Stassi.
Mark had worked as a laborer for Labor Local #338 in Wood River. On July 15, 2016 in Edwardsville, he married Dawn Giddings. She survives. Surviving also are three sons, Chad Stassi, Derek Stratman, Dylan (Alli) Stratman; two daughters, Amy (John) Kirchner, Deann (Ben) Leonard; 11 grandchildren, Faith Kirchner, Joshua Kirchner, Noah Kircher, Anthony Kirchner, Ian Stassi, Serena Stassi, Brinley Stratman, Brooks Stratman, Evelyn Leonard, Cal Leonard, and Cole Leonard; brother, Samuel (Vickie) Stassi; sister, Claudia (Jerry) Pryor; nieces and nephews; many in-laws; and special friends, Chad and Mandi Elfgen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Patricia Baehler.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites were accorded.
A Celebration of Life Memorial will be planned for a later date.
