Mark Robert Sedlacek, 62, of Glen Carbon, Illinois passed away at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Eden Village in Glen Carbon.  He was born April 5, 1957 in Highland, a son of Robert Sedlacek of Glen Carbon and the late Alvina (Ontko) Sedlacek.  He married Kathy (Okai) Dauer Sedlacek on October 4, 2004 at New Bethel United Methodist Church in Glen Carbon and she survives.  Mark owned and operated S&C Service Company in Glen Carbon with 35 years of dedicated service in custom printing.  He was a dedicated member of the Kiwanis Club of Glen Carbon where he had served many positions throughout the years and also served on the Board of Directors.  He had also served as Past Lieutenant Governor of the Illinois Eastern Iowa District of Kiwanis.  He was a faithful member of New Bethel United Methodist Church in Glen Carbon where he had served as treasurer and was a member of the Methodist Men’s Group.  Mark was very involved with the history and heritage of Glen Carbon.  He and his wife enjoyed being Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus at Yanda Cabin, Centennial Library and many private events throughout the years.  In addition to his beloved wife and father, he is survived by his stepmother, Lillian Sedlacek of Glen Carbon; stepson, Kenneth (Kathy) Dauer of Lima, New York; brother, Steve Sedlacek of Glen Carbon; two sisters, Laurie Askew of Glen Carbon and Tina (Bill) Lundak of Collinsville; nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.  In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Donnie Sedlacek; a sister, Donna Sedlacek and a sister-in-law, Deena Sedlacek. 

In celebration of his life, visitation will be at New Bethel United Methodist Church, 131 North Main Street in Glen Carbon on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Dr. Penelope H. Barber officiating.  Burial will follow at Buck Road Cemetery in Maryville.  Memorials may be made to New Bethel United Methodist Church in Glen Carbon.  Irwin Chapel of Glen Carbon in charge of arrangements.  www.irwinchapel.com
