Mark P. Hardin, 57, passed away at 5pm on Sunday, August 21, 2016, at Elmwood Nursing and Rehab in Maryville. He was born on February 18, 1959, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of the late William E. and Margarett (Preston) Hardin. He married the former Esther Torres on July 1, 2000, in Wood River, and she preceded him in death on February 28, 2015. Survivors include one son and daughter in law: Christopher and Alexandra Hardin of Baltimore, Maryland, one granddaughter: Anastasia Hardin of Baltimore, Maryland, a step daughter: Lanora Mott, step grandchildren: Preston Childers, Joshua White, Skyler White, Salina Stewart, Will Vinyard, Jaylin Bull, one sister and brother in law: Tina and Dennis Carpenter of South Roxana, two nieces and their husbands: Staci and Mike Coles of South Roxana, Sara and Matt Pruitt of Roxana, two nephews: Mike Carpenter of South Roxana, Rev. Don Carpenter and his wife: Angie of Eldred, Illinois, three great nieces: Sophia Coles, Caroline Coles, Faith Carpenter, and three great nephews: Carter Pruitt, Austin Carpenter, and Cole Carpenter.
Mark was formerly employed at Alton Mental Health as an aide. He was a motorcycle enthusiast. He was a member of the Dream Weavers Motorcycle Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step daughter: Dede Vinyard.
In celebration of his life, memorial visitation will be from 9am until time of memorial services at 10am on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Rev. Don Carpenter will officiate. Burial will follow at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Patches and Badges and will be accepted at the funeral home.
