Mark F. Piepenbrink, 62, died at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at his home in Alton. Born June 16, 1955 in Terre Haute, IN, he was the son of Arthur and Rosemary (Thompson) Piepenbrink. Mark was a manager for Piasa Pantry and Casey’s General Stores retiring in 2009. He served as Secretary Treasurer and Gaming Board Manager of the Owls Club in Alton, was Vice President of the Alton Eagles FOE No. 254, and was an officer of Madison County Bar Association, American Safety Council. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and loved spending time with all his grandkids. He had a great sense of humor and a huge heart and was always willing to lend a hand and do anything for anyone. He was a hard worker and enjoyed traveling with friends. Surviving is his significant other, Sandra Piening of Alton, a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Eric Walker of Holiday Shores and their children, Jenna, Ava, Cole and Luke, a daughter-in-law, Angela Piening and children, Dalton and Trenton, son-in-law, Billy Piening and children Will and Jack, brother, John (Lisa) Piepenbrink of Plainwell, MI, and a sister-in-law, Nancy Piepenbrink of Hazelwood, Mo. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Thomas Piepenbrink, a sister, Saundra “Sandy” Piepenbrink and a son-in-law, Jeff Piening. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until time of Memorial Service at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, February 5, 2018 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton with Pastor Steven Helfrich officiating. A celebration of Life will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2018 at the Alton Owls Club, 227 Blair Street.
