Mark Anthony Recer, 64, of Pontoon Beach, IL, passed away at 8:26 a.m. Sat. Aug. 25, 2018 at his home while under hospice care.
He was born July 7, 1954 in Granite City to Bonnie Geraldine (Bryant) Graham of Granite City and the late Fred Travis Recer.
On June 23, 1978, he and Sherri A. Downing were married in Venice, IL. She survives in Pontoon Beach.
Mark was a U.S Army veteran. He was a lifelong welder by trade as well as a guitarist, singer and songwriter.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a son: Shane (Lisa) Recer; a daughter: Codi Siegel of Pontoon Beach; 4 grandchildren: Wyatt & Callie Recer, Aberdeen Siegel and Weilyn Dyson; 2 brothers: Rudy (Barb) Recer of Litchfield, IL and Todd (Ann) Recer of St. Charles, MO; and nieces and nephews: Travis, Will, Stacey, Benjamin, Patrick and Anna Recer and Amy Petrillo.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Tammy and Connie Recer.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at Noon Tues. Aug. 28, 2018 at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial with military honors will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
