Marjorie Shelley

Marjorie Shelley, nee Breunig, 86, of O’Fallon, IL, born January 30, 1939, in Morrison, MO, died Monday, December 1, 2025, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, IL.

Marjorie worked as a secretary at Belleville Township High School for many years before her retirement. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan and enjoyed playing cards.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Clarence R. Shelley, whom she married on June 20, 1959, and who died on May 14, 2020; her two infant sons, Keith and Kirk Shelley; her parents, Herbert and Ilma, nee Hackmann, Breunig; and three brothers, Bernard, Leon, and Raymond Breunig.

She is survived by her five children, Kevin (Jennifer) Shelley, Cindy (Tim) Manley, Debra (Chris) Castiller, Alan Shelley, and Bruce Shelley (Bryan Jones); 11 grandchildren, Nicole Davis, Jessica (Ryan) McCalla, Tyler (Chelsea) Castiller, Ryan Manley, Kristen (Eric) Hinton, Jordan (Sarah) Castiller, Kayla Castiller (Justin Schrad) Alana Shelley, Alexis Manley, Braden Shelley, Grayson Shelley; twelve great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois Schwartz, Linn, MO; and many dear nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, December 11, 2025, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 11, 2025, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Fr. Joseph Oganda officiating.

Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
