Marjorie Kay “Marge” Raymond, 81, passed away at 7:27 pm on Friday, December 7, 2018, at Rosewood Care Center in Alton. She was born on May 29, 1937, in Edwardsville, the daughter of the late Robert and Wilma (Mefford) Cooper. She is married. In addition to her husband, survivors include one daughter: Julie Huppert of Rosewood Heights, two sons and a daughter in law: Mark and Rhonda Mertz of Roxana, Brad Mertz of Black River, New York, eight grandchildren: Danny Mertz, Kyle Mertz, Shawn Mertz, Kristen Mertz, Connor Huppert, Ella Huppert, Emily Huppert, Rick Skiff, eight great-grandchildren, a brother: Kendall Robert Cooper of Germany, two nieces, and two nephews.
Marge was employed as an operations manager at Alton Securities until her retirement. She was a member of the Wood River Township Jaycees.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Todd Mertz.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of life open house will be from 4 pm to 7 pm on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at The Lovejoy formerly known as Elijah P’s, 401 Piasa Street, Alton, Illinois 62002.
