Marjorie E. Pohlman, 91, died at 4:47 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at her home in Godfrey surrounded by family and friends. Born April 24, 1925 in Alton, she was the daughter of William A. and Alma Grace (Coates) Roady. Mrs. Pohlman was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. She worked in the accounting department at Owens Illinois Glass in Alton. On April 10, 1948 she married William J. “Bill” Pohlman in Alton. He preceded her in death on July 3, 2013. Dad has been saving her seat at the boat club with pull tabs and lottery tickets. Surviving are two daughters, Martha Craner (Ken) of Orange, CA, and Susie Emons (Mike) of Winter Park, FL, two sons, Dr. Thomas Pohlman (Elsie) of Creve Coeur, MO, and John Pohlman (Eileen) of Fremont, CA. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Cari Dixon (Brian), Emily Pohlman, Kelly Craner (Michelle), Sarah Milunski (Matt), Chelsea Emons, Katie Pohlman, Meggie Emons, Will Pohlman and Eddie Emons, three great grandchildren, Allison Dixon, Rachel Dixon and Andrew Craner, a brother, William Roady of Fillmore, IN, and a sister, Rose Shelton of Coldwater, MI. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, David Pohlman, a grandchild, Gracie Emons, and a sister, Dolores Brugman. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2016 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton and continue from 12:30 p.m. until time of funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Mary 7, 2016 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Father Steve Pohlman will officiate. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Ambrose School, Marquette Catholic High School or a charity of choice.
