Marjorie E. Jones, 100 of Edwardsville, IL passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1, 2020 at her home with her family.
Marjorie was born on March 22, 1920 in Edgar Springs, MO; she is the daughter of the late Aude and Inez (Steele) Bishop. Marjorie was a homemaker, mom and grandma who just celebrated her 100th birthday with her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and she will be remembered for all the special times they shared together.
Marjorie is survived by and will be missed by her children; Russell E. Jones of Granite City, IL, Wallene R. and John Frazier of Salem, AR, Walter H. Jones Jr. of Edwardsville, IL; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren and numerous other close family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband; Walter H. Jones Sr. whom she married on November 13, 1950; her daughter, Marsha A. Weinert and her sisters, Dorothy Bishop, Lola Fern Fink, Wanda McGrew, Juanita “June” Jenkins.
In celebration of Marjorie’s life, a private family visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2020 with her funeral to follow with Pastor Ronald McGrew officiating at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorial donations are suggested to Phoenix Crisis Center in Granite City.
