Marjorie Jane Bligh, 68, of Bethalto, entered into rest on Monday, November 13, 2023, at 11:31 am, while at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born on October 7, 1955, in Alton, IL, the daughter of Wilbert A. and Violet N. (Evers) Dugge.
Margie was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Survivors include her bothers, Wayne Dugge, and her twin, Mike (Nancy) Dugge; her children, Chad (Julie) Bligh, Carrie (Rick) Wood, Amanda (Jimmy) Foxall, and Candice Bligh; grandchildren, Keri Bligh, Ella Bligh, Lance Wood, Clayton Bligh, Joel Wood, Jonah Foxall, and Alaynah Foxall; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Patterson and Serenity Patterson; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, others who have cleared the path to Heaven include, a sister, Jeannine McAfee; and Margie's longtime partner, Bill Blazes; as well as many beloved friends.
The outpouring of love and support during this loss is testimony to the amazing person Margie was. She touched so many lives with her numerous hobbies and talents. She loved to shower family with special gifts that were exquisitely wrapped and personalized to the recipient. She absolutely loved hanging with friends at Timber Trails Campground and hosting her kids and grandkids there. Other loves included hanging with her siblings, bowling, darts, party planning, decorating, movies, reading (especially Stephen King), Sing-a-longs, and most of all she loved her St. Louis Cardinals! Her loss is felt profoundly by many but remember, "There's No Crying in Baseball".
A Celebration of Life will be held by the family on Friday, December 1, 2023, at The Brick Hall at Laux Brickhouse in Bethalto from 5 to 9 pm.
Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded by Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Memorials are suggested to Wood River VFW Toys for Tots organization.
