Marjorie Ann Hopkins, 86, died at 9:35 a.m. on Friday, March 20, 2015 at Eunice Smith Nursing Home in Alton. She was born February 21, 1929 in Dexter, MO the daughter of the late William and Minnie (Harper) Aslin. She was a member of Westview Baptist Church in Belleville, IL.
On August 10, 1946 in Picket, Arkansas she married William Hopkins and he preceded her in death on January 18, 2004.
Surviving includes two daughters; Carolyn and Ernest “Sonny” Irvin Jr. of Godfrey and Barbara and Joe Dorame of Long Beach, CA. two grandchildren; Sarah Keith (Brian) of Godfrey and Susan Schellingburger (Anthony) of Bunker Hill, six great grandchildren; Aslyn Keith, Lindsey Keith, Jacob Baker, William Baker (Jessica), Natasha Schellingburger and Olivia Schellingburger, and one great great grandchild; Ryker Baker.
She was preceded in death by four brother; Rueben,Ray, Cliff and Bill Aslin and four sisters; Leah Wilson, Silvia Page, Marian Moody and Ruth Stone.
A memorial service will be Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Gent Funeral Home in Alton with Ernest “Sonny” Irvin Jr. to officiate. Burial will be private in California.
