Marion Snyder

Marion Louise Snyder, age 83, of Edwardsville, Illinois died at 4:38 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2017, at Edwardsville Nursing & Rehabilitation. Marion was a homemaker & retired as a cook at the Leclaire Christian Daycare in Edwardsville. She was born January 29, 1934, in Edwardsville the daughter of the late Earl & Temple (Smith) Bickell. She married Otis Snyder who preceded her in death. She is survived by 2 sons, Edward “Ed” Bickell & wife Marla of Wood River and John Gauf of Wood River; 1 daughter, Donna Hartzel & husband Bill of Staunton; 1 step-son, George Snyder of Edwardsville; 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchildren. Marion was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Janice Countryman; 5 brothers, Rollin, Harvey, Albert, John Jr., and Earl; and 1 sister, Edith Snyder. She was a member of the Leclaire Christian Church and past member of several church organizations. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at the funeral home with Rev. Jim Johnston officiating. Interment will follow at Valley View Cemetery.
