Marilyn J. Vandygriff 73, of Cottage Hills, beautiful wife and loving mother passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018 with her family by her side. She was born December 25, 1944 in Alton, IL. She married Harry “Bud: Vandygriff June 17, 1964 in Jerseyville, IL.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years Harry “Bud” Vandygriff of Cottage Hills; five daughters, Cathy (Terry) Clendenny of Cottage Hills, Becky (Billyjo”) Davis of Shipman, Debbie Pilla of Maryland Heights, MO, Janie (Terry) Gansz of Alton, Brenda (Greg) Martin of Bethalto; sixteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; four brothers, Jr. Davis of Benton, IL, Everett Leon Davis of Bell Flowers, MO, David Davis and Billy Davis both of Litchfield and two sisters, Cindy Raymond of Brighton and Janelle Lehr of Fidelity.
She was preceded in death by her father, Francis W. Davis Sr., mother, Catherine (Eichorn) Davis; sister, Ginger “Virginia” Davis and a son in law, David Pilla Sr.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton with Father Jason Stone as celebrant. Burial will follow at Fosterburg Cemetery in Fosterburg. Memorials can be made to the the American Diabetes Association or in care of the family. Online guest book available at www.paynicfh.com.
