Marilyn Ann Hill, 72, of Chesterfield, passed away at 8:06 a.m. Sunday, September 6th, 2026, at Carlinville Area Hospital.
She was born on July 17, 1954, in Carrollton, Illinois, the daughter of the late John and Virginia (Garrison) Parker.
She married Donald “Butch” Hill on August 13, 1976, in Fidelity, and together they shared 50 years of marriage.
Marilyn spent many years caring for others through her work as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Lakeside Health and Rehab Center in Carlinville. Caring for people came naturally to Marilyn, both in her work and throughout her life. She never knew a stranger and had a way of making those around her feel welcomed and at ease.
Above all else, Marilyn loved her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the center of her world, and few things brought her greater happiness than simply being surrounded by the people she loved. She enjoyed cooking for her family and creating the kind of moments around the table that became treasured memories.
Marilyn also had an adventurous spirit. She loved riding motorcycles and especially cherished the road trips she shared with her daughter, where the journey itself was often just as meaningful as the destination. She was a devoted Elvis fan and found great joy in his music throughout the years.
Her faith was also an important part of Marilyn’s life. She dearly loved her church and the church family who became such an important part of her own. Through her faith, her family and the countless friendships she formed along the way, Marilyn built a life filled with love, laughter and connection.
She is survived by her husband, Butch Hill of Chesterfield; three children, Rusty (Jackie) Waid of Concord, Donnette Nance of Carlinville and Donnie (Londa) Hill of South Roxana; her many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as her siblings, Francis Parker (Kay) of White Hall, Donna (Tony) Holtzclaw of Warsaw, Missouri, and Robert (Jill) Snyder of Jerseyville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, George Parker; a sister, Margaret Henson; a grandson Jakob Mitchell, Jayden Waid; and a great-granddaughter, Gracie Nance.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.
Burial will follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Fidelity.
