Marilyn Corley

Marilyn L. Corley, 82, of Belleville, IL, born May 5, 1944, in Chicago, IL, died Friday, May 29, 2026, peacefully at her residence.

Marilyn worked in the same building for her entire career at Southwestern Bell, Illinois Bell, and Ameritech. She retired after 35 years of service. Marilyn was very interested in the family genealogy of both sides of her family. She held a family reunion every year for 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Ralph Corley, whom she married on September 14, 1963, and who died April 2, 2007; her grandmother, Hazel Schmidt, who raised Marilyn and her brothers; a sister, Louise Stoltz; a brother, Robert (Judy) Reindl; a

great-granddaughter, Amelia Corley; and a nephew, Scott Reindl.

She is survived by a daughter, Casey McChesney (Jacqueline Nugent) of Santa Rosa, CA; two sons, Bill (Pam) Corley of Paducah, KY, and Chris (Beck) Corley of Belleville, IL;

seven grandchildren, Kate (Robert) Connell, Jacob (Kailey) Corley, Morgan (Jonathan LaCour) Corley, Andrew (Jennifer) Corley, Kyle Corley (Bailey Meyer), Heather (Ethan) Lech, and Cheslie (Michael Haack) Hurst; 11 great-grandchildren, James and Teddy Connell, Sadie and Maggie Corley, Candance, Chloe, Jonathan, Rayleigh, Scarlette, and Miles Corley, and Sophia Haack; and a brother, Ronald (Barb) Reindl.

Marilyn was loved by many. She was everyone’s stand-in Mom, Aunt, Grandma, and friend. She loved her family, her pets, and extended family beyond measure. From her wonderful stories to her famous brownies, she will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Belleville Animal Humane Society or to a local animal shelter of the donor’s choice. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2026, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2026, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Timothy Powers-Reed officiating.

Burial will be at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.
