Marie Margaret Laird, 88, passed away at 11:58 am, August 6, 2012 at Methodist Village.
She was born in St. Charles, MO on December 8, 1923 the daughter of the late John Paul Folmer and May Bristol Folmer.
She married Lucian H. “Bud” Laird in Jackson, MO. He preceded her in death in 1979.
Marie was a devoted housewife. She was a member of the College Avenue Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by one son, Jeffrey Laird of Alton; one daughter, Lucia Marie (Tom) Norris of Godfrey; three grandchildren, David Norris of Alton, Stephen (Melissa) Norris of Fairfield, OH, Sarah (Jim) Crause of Godfrey; and three great grandchildren, Michael Baum, Jack and Sam Norris and a great granddaughter due in October.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; four brothers, Jack, Bill, Francis, and Charles Folmer; and one sister, Claire Moore.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm, Wednesday August 8, 2012, at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL.
Funeral service will be private.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey, IL.
Memorials may be made to the William Bedell ARC Center, The Scholarship Fund at College Ave Presbyterian Church, and Westin Terrace, United Methodist Village.
