Marian H. Delfert Pashea, 71, Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on June 9, 2022. Beloved wife of Joseph J. Pashea, Sr.; loving mother of Stacy M. Pashea, Zachary A. Pashea (Kia), and Joseph J. Pashea, Jr. (Ashley); dearest grandmother of Juno Pashea (Joseph and Ashley); dear sister of Leonard J. Delfert (Bonnie) and friend to many.
Marian was born in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Walter and Edith Delfert. She graduated from Laboure High School and subsequently earned a Bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville where she also played on the Softball team. She went on to obtain a Master of Science in Education from SIUE in 1981.
She excelled in developing many student-athletes. She worked as an Athletic Director at Incarnate Word Academy and held softball and tennis assistant coaching positions at SIUE. She later served as head coach of the women’s volleyball and softball teams at McKendree University and was instrumental in starting the track and field program at her children’s grade school.
She loved gardening, reading, sewing, and tennis, but above all, during the entirety of her life, she adored and put her family first. She was a devoted wife of 45 years to her husband and a champion supporter of her children in all their activities. The only thing sweeter than her blue eyes was her love for her family.
Private services were held.
