Margie Aljets

Margie Aljets, 88, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, after a brief stay at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.She was born on September 17, 1928, in Wood River, Illinois, the daughter of Everett and Ruby (Bender) White.Margie married Bobby Aljets in March of 1948 in Rosewood Heights. He preceded her in death in November of 1997.Margie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto. She enjoyed traveling in their motor home, and spending time with her grandchildren.Survivors include two daughters, Donna Rosenkranz and her husband Dennis of Moro, Debbie Shewmaker of Omaha, Nebraska; two grandchildren and their spouses, Jeff and Nichole Shewmaker, Haley and Alex Huther; one great granddaughter Jenna Shewmaker; and nieces and nephews, Brad, Joe, Sandy, Cathy, and Larry.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, JoAnn Bettag, Beverly Chamness; one son in law, John Shewmaker; and her precious cat, Murphy.A private family service will take place on Friday.Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church or School and 5A’sOnline condolences can be given at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com.
