Margaret Ingersoll Margaret Joyce Ingersoll, 74, of Jerseyville, died at 5:58p.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at her residence after a lengthy period of declining health.She was born in Ottumwa, Iowa on June 6, 1943, and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret V. (Hopkins) Bridgeman.She served as a cook for many years, first at the Eagles Lodge in Jerseyville, and then later at Sinclair Food Mart in Jerseyville.   Both she and and her husband, were active members of the Jerseyville Order of the Eagles Lodge #2747, and she had served as Past President of their WomensAuxillary on numerous occasions.She married Richard A. "Tick" Ingersoll Jr. on Oct. 24, 1959 at the Evangelical Church in Jerseyville, and together they shared 36 years of marriage prior to his death on March 13, 1996.Surviving are a daughter and son in-law, Shelia and John Lappin of Dow; a grandson, Michael Abbott of Jerseyville; two step granddaughters, Rachel Lappin of Godfrey, and Kelly Lappin and her companion, Matt Eberlin of Connecticut; three great granddaughters, Maelin Abbott, MakalaLappin and Alexis Eberlin; two brothers, Kenny Bridgeman of Bloomfield, Ia., and Thomas Allen Bridgeman of Kirksville, Mo.; and nine sisters, Barbara Janney of Ottumwa, Iowa, Shirley Roberts of Gilbertsville, Ky., Linda Marshall and Judy Blew both of Bloomfield, Ia., Hope Archer of Moulten, Ia., Claire Jackson of Lancaster, Mo., Becky Surber of Agency, Ia., Joann Jackson of Lancanster ,Mo., and Cindy Humphrey of Ottumwa, Ia.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Thomas Ingersoll who died in a car accident on Sept. 26, 1980; four sisters, Thelma Wimp, Betty Skinner, Beverly Porter, Alberta Rauh, and two infant sisters, Doris and Janice Bridgeman; five brothers, Leo Hopkins, JackeyBridgeman, David Bridgeman, Thomas Junior Bridgman, and Gary Bridgeman; a step mother, Josephine Bridgeman; and her longtime companion, Bill Smith.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m.  Saturday.Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to an educational fund for her great granddaughters in care of the funeral home.
