Margaret “Jeanne” Vollmer was welcomed to heaven on Wednesday, December 23, 2015.
She was born on July 2, 1939 in Alton, IL, the daughter of the late Gregory and Margaret (Neuman) McClintock. She married classmate, John “Jack” Vollmer on February 8, 1958 in Norfolk, Virginia when he was in the Navy. They had four children. Jeanne was retired and lived in Pinellas Park, FL. She enjoyed going to the beach, watching beautiful sunsets and golfing. Prior to retirement she worked at West Junior High School. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and never knew a stranger.
She is survived by two daughters and son-in-laws, Jo Ann and Bill Spoor of Chatham, IL and Jill and Michael Busby of Gillespie, IL, one son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Jackie Vollmer of Alton, IL; four grandchildren, Zachary Spoor, Jessalynn McCauley, Jeffrey Rynders and Josh Vollmer; a sister in law Ilse McClintock of Wood River and a sister –in-law and brother-in-law Geraldine and Don St. Peters of Indiana.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son Jack Vollmer, her sister Mary Lou “Peanut” Johnson, two brothers, William and James McClintock, and one granddaughter, Courtney Spoor.
In celebration of her life a memorial service will be held Saturday May 14 at 10am at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Alton.
