Margaret Goetten

JERSEYVILLE-  Margaret Catherine Goetten, 92, died at 7:40 a.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Jerseyville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.She was born in Meppen, Il. on March 26, 1923, the only daughter of eleven children born to the late John B. & Catherine (Imming) Pohlman.Margaret graduated from Carrollton High School, and worked in the health care industry serving as a Registered Nurse for several doctors, and with the Jersey County Health Department for many years.She married Cyril H. Goetten on June 14, 1950 in Carrollton, and together they raised their three sons on their family farm and shared 64 years together before his death on July 25, 2014.Surviving are her three sons & daughters in law, John & Connie Goetten, Thomas & Nancy Goetten, and Timothy & Diana Goetten all of Jerseyville; five grandchildren and their spouses, Chad & Lynn Goetten of Fieldon, Tiffany & Matt Williams of St. Charles, Mo., Christopher Goetten of Godfrey, Alex Goetten, and his fiance' Megan Coyle of St. Louis, Mo., and Andrew Goetten of Chicago; six great grandchildren; a brother & a sister in law, John & Mary Ann Pohlman of Jerseyville; and two sisters in law, Joan Pohlman of Carrollton and Charlene Pohlman of Granite City.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by eight brothers, Lee, Ernest, Victor, Phillip, Alfred, James, Edward and Robert Pohlman; and an infant brother, Ernest.Visitation will be from 9 a.m., until 10:45 a.m., Saturday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m., Saturday at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville, with Father William Hembrow officiating.Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Fieldon.Memorials may be given to the St. Francis/Holy Ghost Catholic Schools in Jerseyville.
