Marcella “Marcie” Sue Johnson, nee McElroy, 77, of Troy, Illinois, formerly of Granite City, Illinois, born October 31, 1945, in Franklin, North Carolina, passed away, on October 24, 2023, in Edwardsville, Illinois.
Marcie was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Granite City, Illinois. She also volunteered her time to the TWIG program with the church. She enjoyed shopping, sewing, and creating other arts and crafts. She loved her cats but not nearly as much as her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who will truly be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Johnson, and her parents, Marshall and Freddie, nee Hall, McElroy.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughter, Julie (William) French, of Troy, Illinois, her granddaughters, Lindsay (Kyle) Kampwerth, of St. Jacob, Illinois, Mackenzie French and Mia French, both of Troy, Illinois; her great-grandchildren, Kolton and Kynlie Kampwerth; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral: Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, October 27, 2023, at Irwin Chapel, Glen Carbon, Illinois. The interment will be held in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, Illinois.
