Marcella F. Epping, 91, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Monday, August 27, 2018 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
She was born on Chouteau Island in Granite City on March 22, 1927, a daughter of the late Otto A. and Elizabeth Willaredt. She married Robert F. Epping on May 28, 1949 at St. John United Church of Christ in Granite City and he passed away on May 7, 2013.
She was a devoted and faithful member of St. John United Church of Christ and enjoyed playing cards, working puzzles and word games. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert G. Epping of Granite City and David M. and Patti Epping of Bethalto; two grandsons, Scott Epping of Bethalto and Ryan Epping of LaPorte, Indiana; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Otto C. and Vera Willaredt; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Edward and Mary Epping and a brother-in-law, Edward A. Epping.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at St. John United Church of Christ, 2901 Nameoki Road in Granite City on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Karla Frost officiating.
