Madelyn J. Matchell, 97, died at 12:20 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2009 at her home.
Born June 20, 1912 in Missouri, she was the daughter of James and Hannah (Hart) Stumbaugh.
She married Vernie Matchell in 1930. He preceded her in death. Surviving is a daughter, Janet Brittain and her husband Larry of Alton, a grandson, Kevin Brittian and his wife Miyuki of Alton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Gerald C. Matchell, brother, sisters, and nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 12:00 noon Thursday at St. John's Evangelical Church Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Reverend Steve Rice will officiate.
