Mabel Ann Chatham, 91, passed away at 7:50 A.M. Monday, January 17, 2011 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 9, 1919 in Wanda to Herman C. and Theresa (Epping) Linkeman.
A machine operator in the shotshell division of Olin Corp., she was an avid quilter and loved to play Bingo.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Gary Heath of Granite City; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Don Chatham of East Alton, Larry and Jerri Richardson of Edwardsville, and Glen Chatham of Bethalto; nine grandchildren, Megan (Joseph) Overman, Alisha Wright, Jessica (Dave) Utz, Natasha Heath, Kimberly, Mariah, and Brian Richardson, Sarah Lewis, and Tracy Stephens; 12 great grandchildren, Gracie Byron, Colton Fulcher, Gabriel, Noah, and Isabella Overman, Austin Hausman, Isaac and Melina Lewis, Charlotte Utz, and Henry, Victoria, and Cayden Stephens; a brother, Ralph Linkeman of Lansing, Mich.; and two special nieces, Sharon Inman and Brenda Linkeman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Ethel Karrick; and three brothers, Charles, Herbert, and Alvin Linkeman.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21. Rev. John Blackmore will officiate.
Interment will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
