Lynn Meyer

Lynn Meyer, 54, of Jerseyville, Illinois, died suddenly, June 8, 2026. Born August 10, 1971 in Rockford, Illinois, Lynn was the beloved wife of Michael Allway for more than 20 years, the devoted daughter of Cynthia (Cindy) and the late Brian Meyer, and a caring breeder, owner, handler and judge of purebred dogs, especially Tibetan Terriers. Additionally, Lynn is survived by her loving siblings, Kent (Gwen) Meyer and Terri (Eben) Sutton, nieces and nephews Addison Allway, Tallon Allway and Luke Meyer. She was the beloved daughter-in-law of Max Allway and the late Louise Allway.

Lynn was a pillar in the purebred dog community, especially for Tibetan Terriers. A third-generation dog fancier, she followed in the steps of her late grandparents, Joseph Marine and Alice Bell (Rohrer) Marine and Kenneth and Lorraine Meyer as well as those of her parents. All of them were well-known, successful dog fanciers and her mother, Cindy, continues to judge dog shows today.

An active participant in the world of dogs her entire life, Lynn was greatly beloved and appreciated by dog lovers around the world. She brought many dogs - her own and those of her client’s - to top positions in their breed. Her extensive experience in dogs led to her position as Executive Field Representative for the American Kennel Club (AKC), a role she held since 2018 and seemingly had trained for her entire life.

Lynn was an AKC Breeder of Merit with her very successful kennel, Dzine Tibetan Terriers and was a member of the Tibetan Terrier Club of America. For ten of the last 18 years, Lynn handled, owned or bred the #1Tibetan Terrier in the United States. In 2024, Lynn reached a pinnacle of her dog career when in 2023, her home-bred bitch, Fancy (BIS, BISS GCH Barnstorm One Chance Fancy by Dzine) won the breed at Crufts and earned a Utility Group 4.

Lynn was a partner, mentor and resource for dog fanciers of all ages around the world. She loved her dogs and they loved her. Lynn leaves a legacy of responsible, ethical breeding that will live on in her beautiful Tibetan Terriers for generations to come.

An internment service will take place in Rockford, Illinois on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 (10am) at Arlington Memorial Park.
