Lynn M. Bushnell Pinkowski

Lynn M. Bushnell Pinkowski, age 55, lost her valiant battle with life after a three year battle with cancer on October 15, 2009, at her residence with her family by her side.

She was born in Alton, IL on February 18, 1954, the daughter of Jerry L. and Rose Marie (Short) Bushnell.

Lynn married William J. Pinkowski in December 23, 2008 at Beck Chapel in Alton, IL. He survives.

Lynn graduated from Alton High School in 1972, she then attended the Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey, she went on to attend the former Belleville Area College and received a degree as an operating room technician.

She was employed at Washington University Neurology Department in the Electromyography Department and later in the sleep study department as a registered sleep study technician where she worked for 25 yrs., and then went on to the sleep study department at Alton Memorial Hospital.

She is survived by her mother; sister Brenda J. Myers and her husband Mark; a special nephew; Samuel L. Myers; two step-nephews; Matthew Myers, and Jeremy Myers and his wife Samantha, a special cousin who was like a sister; Victoria Petruzza and her husband Michael Thompson, and a cousin; Nicholas Nagel and his family, and many cousins and close friends who loved her and will greatly miss her. She will also be missed by her faithful canine companion; Bonnie.


She was preceded in death by her father; Jerry L. Bushnell, grandparents; Elden and Gladys Bushnell and Carroll and Hilda Short; two aunts; Norma Short and Nellie Lathrom, and one uncle; Russell Bushnell.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm, on, Friday October 16, 2009 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home, in Alton, IL. Where funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm, on Saturday, October 17, 2009 with the Chaplin Bruce Baumberger officiating.

Burial will follow at Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Carrollton, Il.

Memorials may be made to 5 A's.
