Lynn Shaw

Lynn E. Shaw, passed away Friday February 5, 2016 at 11:45 pm at Anderson Hospital, after a two year battle with cancer and his sister by his side.Lynn just celebrated his 56^th birthday this past Christmas.  He was born in Burbank, CA the son of the late Lois Lawson and Fred Shaw.He was a Pipeline Operator at the Conoco Pipeline Terminal for ten years.  He had a great love for all animals. He graduated Alton High with the class of 1978.He is survived by two sisters Jamie (Craig) Greer of Godfrey and Debra Hedger of Texas; two nephews Jake Van Allman and his daughter Luca of Alton and Matthew (Monica) Hedger and their son Will; a niece Krystal Van Allman (Josh) Coggins and their children RaeLeigh Beyers, Max, and Lucas of Brighton; two half-brothers Fred (Jerilyn) Shaw and their son Jason of Woodriver and Brent Shaw and his sons Jacob, Cody, Kaleb, Justin and Layton of Mesa, AZ.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step father Joe Lawson, his grandmother Dorothy Benecke both of Alton and his beloved dog Murphy.In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 10 am until time of service 12 pm Saturday February 13, 2016 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL.Burial will private at a later date.The family wishes to thank Vitas Hospice and the third floor nurses and staff at Anderson Hospital in Maryville for the excellent care and comfort they had given to Lynn.Memorials may be directed to 5 A’s Animal Shelter.Online condolences and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
