Lydia Kehr

Lydia M. Kehr, age 86, of Cottage Hills, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018, at Delmar Gardens South Health Care in St. Louis.

She was born August 15, 1931, in Bunker Hill, the daughter of Ruth Hueneger. She married Robert R. Kehr on November 2, 1947 in Bunker Hill and he preceded her in death February 18, 2013.

Lydia and her husband, Robert, both worked at the Bunker Hill Post office.  They were both members of Concordia Lutheran Church in Cottage Hills. Lydia had been a Cradle Roll Superintendant with Zion Lutheran Church in Bunker Hill for 30 years, as well as being the Assistant Den Mother for the Cub Scouts Troop #2. Lydia loved the Lord and read scripture daily. She loved to smile, and most importantly she loved her family. She will be remembered for putting others before herself.

She is survived by two children and their spouses, Charles and Renee Kehr of Naples, FL, and Susan and Paul Jennings of Valley Park, MO; three grandchildren, Angela and Adam Jennings, Alexandra and Patrick Little, and Chelsea Jennings; three great-grandchildren, Sawyer Jennings, Emmie Kehr, and Maddox Nowiak;  her siblings, Joyce Kuroiwa of Longbeach, CA, Jim and Mary Robbins of Las Vegas, NV, and Janice and John Nelson of Auburn, WA; an aunt and uncle, Melinda “Winnie” Whittaker of Wood River, Frank Lloyd Hueneger of Moro; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, Robert; she is preceded in death by a grandson, Benjamin Moore;  the special grandparents who raised her, Frank Lewis and Bessie (Lanterman) Hueneger; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 29, 2018, from 10:00 am until the time of service at Noon at Concordia Lutheran Church in Cottage Hills with Pastor Kale Hanson officiating.

Burial will take place in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church in Cottage Hills.
