Lulu Marie Claro, 92, of Sawyerville, IL, died at Staunton Health and Rehab Center, on Thursday, November 27, 2025.
She was born August 24, 1933 in St. Genevieve, Missouri to Jacob McCarty & Lulu Violet Klotzer Willett. She married Thomas Raymond Claro on December 31, 1952 in East St Louis. He preceded her in death on October 21, 2006.
She was a homemaker. Lulu enjoyed crocheting, puzzles and her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Joyce (Charles McFeron) McNabb of Nashville, IL, Dolores Sert of Litchfield, IL, Larry Claro of Sparta, IL, Michael Claro of Gillespie, IL, Gary Claro of Granite City, IL, Anthony (Cindy) Claro of Coulterville, IL, Nancy (Rob) Hagan of Lenzburg, IL, Christine (Larry) Lehman of Sawyerville, IL, 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, brother, William McCarty of Belleville, IL, sisters, Lucinda Willett of St. Genevieve, MO, Eleanor Reynolds of Springfield, MO.
Lulu was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, daughters, Charlene McCarty, Daughter, JoAnn Hrabusicky, son, Thomas Claro, Jr., grandchild, Jennifer Lehman, great grandchild, Hunter Lehman, brothers, Andrew McCarty, Richard McCarty.
Friends may call on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Funeral services are Monday, December 1, 2025 at 12:00 pm at Unity Baptist Church in Gillespie, IL. Burial will be at Benld Cemetery, Benld, IL.
