Lucy Corrine Stevens, 91, of Godfrey, Illinois, passed away at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Evercare of Calhoun in Hardin, Illinois after a brief illness.
She was born August 12,1934 in Galesburg, Illinois to the late Clarence and Lucy (Moore) Wallace.
On October 27,1951, she married Don Stevens, the love of her life. He preceded her in death on November 26, 2025.
Corrine's greatest accomplishment was being a devoted homemaker. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will forever cherish the love and care she poured into her family. She was known for baking incredible wedding and birthday cakes, as a talented seamstress, and for her love of arts and crafts. Corrine and Don, married for 74 years, loved traveling and camping together. They also brought joy to many through teaching country line dancing. Corrine was known for starting her day with a smile and her bright red lipstick. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by a daughter Cheri (Jim) Horn, of Alton, Illinois, three sons Gary (Linda) Stevens of Prairieville, Louisiana, Dan (Kathy) Stevens of Ferguson, Missouri, and David (Dianne) Stevens of Maryville, Illinois, thirteen grandchildren, Robert Stevens, Jeanne (Jeff) Vicknair, Becky (David) Evans, Jennifer (Tracy) Schaefer, Jim Horn III, Jana (Rick) Dawson, Brian Stevens, Brad Stevens, Craig (Katelyn) Richert, Lindsey Richert, Dawn (Todd) Capstick, Kelley Sacco, and Robert Pesek, twenty one great-grandchildren, Haleigh Stevens, Jamie Stevens, Tobi Stevens, Kayla (Seth) Savoy, Austin (Samantha) Vicknair, Rylee Vicknair, Marissa Kraft, Brennan Kraft, Cooper Kraft, Carsyn Kraft, Alex (Ryan) Laib, Brian Nagy, Christopher Horn, Julianna Horn, George Horn, Genevieve' Horn, Olivia Dawson, Bennett Richert, Harper Richert, Teagan Capstick, Dylon Sacco, three great-great grandchildren Blakely Savoy, Remy Savoy, Oliver Kraft and two sisters Nancy Lane and Jane Reprogle . Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Gene Stevens, two sisters- in -law, Patty Baker and Alice Thomas, and two brothers-in-law Sam Lane and Jerome Reprogle.
Graveside Services will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on Friday, February 20, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to 5A'S Animal Shelter. Gent Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Additional information and online guestbook may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
