Lucille Rasler

Lucille Rasler, age 97 of Greenville, passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

Funeral services for Lucille will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2026, at the Greenville First Christian Church. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church on Monday. Private family interment will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the First Christian Church or the Thrift Store (HSHS Holy Family Auxilliary).

Lucille V. Adams Rasler was born to the late Charles and Vivien Adams in Bond County, Illinois on July 18, 1928. At age 17, she was baptized into Christ at the First Christian Church in Greenville, Illinois, where she has remained an active and faithful member. She served in many areas of the church and at 97 years old was still helping by folding church bulletins and serving funeral dinners.

She was blessed with a large and loving family. She married Everett (Shorty) Rasler on April 20, 1947, in Greenville, Illinois. They were married 58 years. They were the proud parents of four daughters: Susan (Frank) Watson, Sherry (Ron) Holzhauer, Cindy (Steve) Roodhouse, and Sally (Tim) Fallon.

Lucille was a talented seamstress who make most of the girls’ clothes. She would take the older girls shopping downtown St. Louis and return home with only a sketchbook full of sewing ideas…and a cheesecake for Shorty.

As the girls grew, she sewed cheerleading uniforms, formals, costumes, bridesmaids dresses, etc. Her creations were one of a kind and beautifully sewn.

Lucille worked at DeMoulin’s before her marriage. She assisted in many ways with Rasler’s Plumbing Company. She managed The Corner, a children’s clothing store, for many years. She also was employed at Dr. Donald Hays Dental Office and Office Environments. Lucille also assisted her youngest daughter, Sally, on five European cruises where Sally’s company had trunk shows and sold Extasia Jewelry.

Lucille enjoyed traveling and spent many winters in Florida. She visited all 50 states as well as Mexico, Canada, Nova Scotia, and Panama as well as 13 European countries. She loved Singer Island, Florida, and traveled to many Mediterranean and Caribbean Islands.

In addition to her four daughters, she is survived by 7 grandchildren: Chad Watson, Jason Sanders, Rachel Sanders, Jereme Roodhouse, Dori Adams, Christi Burton, and Sam Jensen. She was the loving great-grandmother of 19, and great-great-grandmother of 4. Lucille is also survived by her sister Dora Adams Day.

She was preceded in death by her husband Shorty, her parents, her brother Richard Adams, and her granddaughter Kami Watson Meyer.
