Lucille McHatton

Lucille McHatton, 95, passed away on Saturday January 21, 2012 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton, Il..  She was born in Nortonville, Illinois on July 20, 1916.  She was the daughter of Chester Alvin Pence and Katie Lucille Eldridge Pence.  Lucille was the oldest of 7 children. 

She graduated from Waverly High School in 1934 and married Tommy Jefferson Franklin Angelo on Jan 1, 1937.  They spent most of their married life farming in the Palmyra area where they began raising their 7 children.  Tommy Angelo passed away on March 27, 1960.  Lucille moved to Alton where she worked as a nurse at St. Joe’s Hospital.  She married Vincent (Benny) McHatton in 1967.  Benny passed away on July 20, 1989.

Lucille is survived by three sons and one daughter, Lynn (Therese) Angelo of Carlinville, IL, Coy (Jane) Angelo of Guilford, CT, Steve Angelo of Wood River, IL, and  Nancy Marczak, of Mitchell, IL; 25 Grandchildren, Patty Jo Carrigan, Randy Angelo, Mario Mock, Monty Mock, Kelly Monteith, Jennifer Henrichs, Frankie Angelo, Billy Angelo; Jim Lovens, Judy Cole, Lori Lovens, Tom Angelo; Terry Skiles, Erica Shanks, Jodi Pruiett, Jennifer Geninatti; Delcina Marshall, Kristine Angelo, Luke Angelo, Coy Angelo; Tammy Williams, Mike Hard, Lisa Scaturro, Adam Hard, and Jeff Hard.  Lucille is survived by two brothers, Ray Pence of Palmyra and Bill (Velma) Pence of Palmyra.  Lucille is also survived by 47 Great Grandchildren, 9 Great Great Grand Children and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Warren Pence, Marvin Pence; two sisters Bernice Pence, Mildred Redfern; three sons, Lyle Angelo, Frank Angelo and Gary Angelo.   

Funeral services will be held on Monday January 23, 2012 at the Baptist Church in Palmyra, IL.  Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. – 10:30 A.M. with services immediately following.  Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Palmyra.  Pallbearers will be Luke Angelo, Mike Hard, Coy Angelo, Adam Hard, Dre Angelo and Jeff Hard. 

In lieu of flowers the family request Memorial Contributions be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, PO Box 650309, Dallas TX. 75265-0309..
