Lucille Irene Johnson, 94, died at 2:55 am Saturday, March 10 2018 at Jerseyville Manor in Jerseyville, Illinois. Lucille was born on February 25, 1924, in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of William and Myrtle (Kirchhoff) Phillips. She married Dow Johnson on October 8, 1943 in St. Charles, Missouri. She worked at Dow’s Shoe Shop in Alton and was a box-maker at Owens Illinois Glass Company for 25 years. She was a resident of Fieldon since 1993, and loved being a very active member of the Fieldon Baptist Church. Survivors include two brothers, Richard and Earl Phillips, and sister Bernice (Binny) Haworth, and her Fieldon Baptist Church family. Preceding her in death were her mother and father, her husband Dow Johnson, daughter Peggy Johnson, and six siblings. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Fieldon Baptist Church. Funeral will be on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Fieldon Baptist Church. The Reverend Bo Schultz will officiate. Burial will be at the Fieldon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fieldon Baptist Church.
