Lucille Anne DeLay, 82, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 8:04 a.m. Sat. Dec. 20, 2025 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
She was born June 14, 1943 in East St. Louis, IL to the late Mitchell John and Mary Felicia (Pikul) Aramowicz.
On June 29, 1974, she and Al John DeLay were married in Granite City at Holy Family. He preceded her in death Apr. 22, 2011.
Lucille held many positions throughout her life from being a secretary to a teacher, including teaching at SIU-E, SWIC, Granite City High School and Venice Lincoln Technical Center. She was a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Audrey Joan DeLay of Granite City, a brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Lynda Aramowicz of Worden, IL, 2 nephews, Nicholas Robert Aramowicz and Andrew Michael Aramowicz of Worden, and a sister-in-law, Nancy Mae DeLay of FL.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Marie DeLay Foley, and a sister, Rosalie Jean Aramowicz.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sun. Dec. 28, 2025 at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Mon. Dec. 29, 2025 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Granite City with Fr. Stephen Thompson as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Fairview Heights, IL.
Memorials may be made to Masses at Holy Family, to any E.M.T. service in Granite City, Gateway Regional Medical Center 4th Floor or the ICU who so lovingly cared for her.
