Lucille Beil

Lucille “Lucy” Ann Beil, née Zimmerman, 92, of Collinsville, IL, passed away peacefully at her home on September 29, 2026, with her family by her side. Born in St. Vincent, AR, Lucy was the daughter of the late Paul and Christine Zimmerman.

On April 26, 1954, Lucy married the love of her life, John “Johnny” Robert Beil, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in South St. Louis. For 64 years, Lucy and Johnny shared a life of faith, family, hard work, and togetherness.

Lucy spent much of her working life as a manager at Miss Hulling’s Cafeteria in St. Louis, where her career brought her into contact with countless people. She and Johnny embarked on another chapter together as the owners and operators of Riversedge Campground in Lesterville, MO. Their campground became another place where Lucy and Johnny could enjoy the outdoors and the people who came through their lives. After Johnny’s passing on August 7, 2018, Lucy remained devoted to the family they built together, carrying their shared love and traditions forward through the generations.

Her Catholic faith was a constant and foundational part of Lucy’s life. She was a dedicated member of Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville, and the Order of Franciscans. Her faith provided a lasting foundation throughout the many seasons of her life, and she carried that devotion with her until the end.

In addition to her parents and beloved husband Johnny, Lucy was preceded in death by her sons, Joseph Beil and Jerard Beil; her brothers, Emil (Angie) Zimmerman and Paul Zimmerman; and her sister, Allie (ZL) Beard.

She leaves behind her loving children, John Beil of Collinsville, Jim (Cindy) Beil of St. Louis, Jeff (Sherry) Beil of Pontoon Beach, Tina Beil of St. Louis, and daughter-in-law Cynthia Beil of Fayetteville, AR; her siblings, Ronald “Butch” (Sherrel) Zimmerman, Tina (Jim) Brubaker, and sister-in-law Betty Zimmerman; her beloved grandchildren, Erin, Jessica (Darin), James (Amanda), Jason, John, Sara (Meho), Jack, and Zach; her many beloved great-grandchildren, and many other cherished nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville, IL. Following Mass, a funeral procession will travel to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, arriving at 12:45 p.m., where Lucy will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Johnny. Family and friends who are unable to attend the Funeral Mass are welcome to join the procession at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Lucy’s honor to Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church or the Blinded Veterans Association.
