Lucas Richard Parrish, 30, died at 4:10 p.m., Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Alton Memorial Hospital from complications of a life long battle with Cystic Fibrosis.He was born in the same hospital on Aug. 10, 1984, and was one of three children born to Merrel "Rick" & Barbara "Bobbi" (Lewis) Parrish.Lucas was an avid gamer and follower of comic book super heroes.  He used those same ideas and strengths to battle his everyday struggles with his disease, combating setbacks and adversity with sheer determination and honor.  He was a certified Jedi Knight as well as an ordained minister.He married Maleri Dyan Dobson on Sept. 29, 2012 at the KC Hall in Jerseyville and she survives.Also surviving are his father & step mother, Rick & Debbie Parrish of Collinsville; two sisters & a brother in law, Holly & Brian Embley of Brighton, and Bethany Parrish of Caseyville; a step sister, Dayna Bohnenstiehl of Collinsville and her fiance' Joel Atwood of Caseyville; , a step brother & his wife,  Danny and Nicki Bohnenstiehl of Granite City; nieces and nephews, Blaine, Anna, Kailyn, Ethan & Roman.Although Lucas never had children of his own, he is survived by his two feline daughters, Quinn & Belle.He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara "Bobbi" Parrish; and a niece, Kayley Christine Bohnenstiehl.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday.  Rev. Charles Dey Jr. will officiate.Cremation will take place after the services.Memorials may be given to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Cerebral Palsy Foundation or to the American Diabetes Association.Lucas was humbled and thankful to be lung transplant recipient, and would like others to consider becoming an organ donor.
