Lovie Cleveland Collins of Alton Illinois passed away Thursday,  September  1 at his sojourn  home.  He was born February  3, 1947 to Lovie and Frances (Gatewood) Collins in Los Angeles, CA.  After high school Lovie joined the United States Marine Corps. He was in the 1st Bn 27th Marines Vietnam 1968.On June 3, 1979 he married Lola Reams.  He worked at Olin Winchester  for 30+ years.  He was involved in the Marine Corps League and volunteered in the community raising money for the Salvation Army and collecting toys for Toys For Tots. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, traveling, dancing, singing, spending time with his family and friends, and making people laugh.Lovie is survived by his wife Lola; 3 children; Lovie LaJaounn (Jana) Frazier Collins, Nikeisha (Stefan) Gilbreathand Tamala (Miko) Dannels, 4 grandchildren;  Keyshawn London, Darius Gilbreath,  Josiah Dannel  and JaHavion Frazier Collins, 4 sisters;  Velma (Willie) Jones of Alton, IL,  Mary Curtis and  Virginia Gray of Grand Rapids, MI and Roberta K. Collins of Las Vegas, NV. 3 brothers:  Jesse Collins of San Diego, CA; Clifton Collins of Coffeyville, KS and Junior Collins of Wichita, KS., nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, his Marine Corps family. He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers; Walter Collins, Leonard Scott, Freddie Scott and Jason CollinsVisitation Thursday September 8, 2016 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Cathy M. Williams  & Sons Funeral Home in Alton.Visitation  to continue on Friday from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. at Harvest Christian Center3316 Hillcrest Ave Alton, IL Rev.
