Louise Jehle

Louise (nee Randall) Jehle, 74, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Alton Memorial Hospital.Born on November 5, 1943 in New York, she was the daughter of Rosemary (nee Miller) and Duane Randall Sr.A graduate of Marquette Catholic High School and SIUE, Louise was a dedicated teacher who loved all of her many students over the years from Head Start to St. Mary’s to St. Ambrose until her retirement from LCCC.She married John “Jackson” Jehle on August 7, 1965 and together they enjoyed almost 53 years of marriage - a beautiful example of Faith and family for their daughter and grandchildren.In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Marty Johnes of Godfrey, Illinois; three grandchildren whom she adored, Noah Johnes, Adam Johnes and Rebekah Johnes, also of Godfrey, Illinois; a sister, Martha Black of Miami, Florida; Jehle in-laws, Toni and Paul O’Brien of Collinsville, Illinois, Suzi and Roger Kelling of Phoenix, Arizona, Jane and Jim Schwartz of Allentown, Pennsylvania, Tracy and Bruce Renison of St. Louis, Missouri, Sue and Mark Jehle of Godfrey, Illinois, Mary Lou and Tim Copley of Godfrey, Illinois, Betsy Kelley of Phoenix, Arizona; 22 nieces and nephews; very special “Miller” cousins and many friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Jon Canaday; a brother and sister-in-law, Nancy and Duane Randall Jr.; her mother-and-father-in-law, Irene and John Jehle as well as numerous beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.Per her wishes, Louise will be cremated.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday,  June 23, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton, Illinois.Memorials are suggested to Mass Intentions, 5 A’s Humane Society or St. Mary’s Catholic Church/School.Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey is in charge of the arrangements.Online condolences can be found at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home
