Louise Mary Taylor, 98, formerly of Wood River, passed away 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Big River Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born in Virden on June 8, 1918, she was the daughter of Cleveland and Lula (Perrine) Pitchford.
She had worked as a machinist for the Olin Corporation for 14 years before retiring in 1975.
On April 7, 1940 in Rolla, MO, she married Philip M. Taylor. He died January 9, 1997.
Surviving are two sons, Philip G. (Frances) Taylor of Arnold, MO, Douglas (Kathy) Taylor of Plainfield, IN; eight grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren.
Her parents and a sister, Pauline Hines preceded in death.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Father Donald Wolford will officiate.
Burial will follow in Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.
Memorials may be made to Holy Angels Parish.
