Louis Eugene Koehne, 95, of Godfrey, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026.
He was born on August 1, 1931, in Brighton, the son of the late Gene and Rosemary (Grumlick) Koehne.
Louis proudly served in the US navy on the USS Des Moines CA 134 from 1951-1955 where he received an honorable discharge with a good Conduct medal and a National Defense Service medal as a testament of Honest and Faithful Service.
Louis married Joyce Belt in Brighton on August 25, 1955. She preceded him in death in 2013.
He retired from Owens Illinois as a Machinist.
Louis is survived by three children, Tom (Terrie) Koehne of Godfrey, Debbie (Jimmy) Chapman of Brighton, Patty Parker of Florissant, MO; six grandchildren, Tricia, Tara, Amy, Kimberly, Jessie, and Christopher; ten great grandchildren, Carter, Abby, Zach, Zoey, Caleb, Hailey, Kassey, Matthew, Kristian, and Malachi; three great grandchildren, Xavier, Thaigito, and Cielle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and infant daughter Diane Koehne.
Private graveside services will be held at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
