Lorraine Cooper

Lorraine Lois Cooper, 96, of Benld, IL, died at The Glenwood, Staunton, IL on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 6:03 pm. She was born April 14, 1930, in Gillespie, IL to Fred Krause & Johanna Springer Krause.

She married Donald George Cooper. He preceded her in death on July 28, 1974.

She was retired after having been a clerk for Leone's Lumber Yard. Lorraine loved playing piano and was a big Elvis fan. She enjoyed Bingo and she never knew a stranger.

She is survived by her children, Gerald Cooper of Staunton, IL, Janice (Ron) Williams of Staunton, IL, Barbara "Kim" (Jim) Schmitt of Chesapeake, VA, Kurtis (Jenny) Cooper of Virden, IL, Saundra (Charlie) McGrady Popovich of Mt Olive, IL, Brian "Lance" Cooper of Benld, IL, grandchildren, Jordan, Alex, Andrew, Patrick (Heather), Maura (Edouard), Eric (Theresa), Myles (Lauren), Owen (Jimi Jo), Conner (Taylor), Logan, Austin, Hannah, Carson, Jason and Aaron, 9 great-grandchildren, sister, Loretta Re of Gillespie, IL and many loving nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, sisters in law, Pat (Cooper) Brown and husband Gene Brown, Maxine Drivas and husband Carl Drivas; brother in law, Cecil Re.

Friends may call on Monday, July 27, 2026 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Benld from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. Funeral services are Monday, July 27, 2026 at 12:00 pm at Kravanya Funeral Home in Benld, IL. Burial will be at Benld Cemetery, Benld, IL.
