Lori Ann Zenker, 64, died at 9:58 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born January 18, 1959 in Hanibal, MO, she was the daughter of William and Betty (Beadle) Burch. She worked as a teacher for the East Alton-Wood River High School. Lori loved spending time with her grandchildren, relaxing outside, and vacationing with the family in Vero Beach, FL and Walt Disney World. On January 7, 1984 she married Dr. Steven P. Zenker in Springfield, IL. He survives. Also surviving are two children, Meghan (Grant) Kane of Alton and Adam (Jamie) Zenker of Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, Emma Rose Kane, William Michael Kane, and Josephine “Josie” Kane (expected December 2023); a sister, Paula (Frederick) Case of Quincy, IL; and her mother-in-law, Marlene Zenker of Nashville, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents and her father-in-law, Reverend Dr. Alton Zenker. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2023 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2023. Pastor Dave Anderson will officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
