Loretta Gonzales “NoNo”, 86, passed away at 5:37 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2017 at Integrity Healthcare of Godfrey surrounded by her family. Born February 7, 1931 in Alton, she was the daughter of Levi Eugene and Mary (Centers) Tavenier. Mrs. Gonzales was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing, camping, spending time with her grandkids and always making those around her laugh. On May 6, 1952 she married John Gonzales in Alton. He preceded her in death on March 11, 2004. Surviving are two children, Joseph Perkins (Gary Sitzes) of Alton and Margaret Clark (Ray) of Godfrey, seven grandchildren, April Imming (Jeff), Messina Lenger (Mike), Jamie Buchanan (Bobby), Megan Peuterbaugh (Eric), Tim Perkins, Carissa Eason (Doug), and Addie Perkins (Carlos), 22 great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa Gonzales, two infant sons, Ricky and Johnny Gonzales, four brothers, Raymond, Leroy, Lloyd and Sam Tavenier, and five sisters, Opel Hellrung, Marcela Shake, Martha Boyles, Garneth Tavenier and Marie Bedwell. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Friday, march 17, 2017 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Alton. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
