Loretta “Dee” Reed, 78, passed away at 4:23 am Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at home with her family by her side.
She was born October 2, 1936 in Rosiclare, IL, the daughter of Marvin and Dorthy (Banks) Love.
She married William “Bill” E. Reed in January 1953 in Wood River, IL. He preceded her in death on May 30, 2010.
Loretta was a packer at Owens Illinois Glass, worked at Reides Tomboy as a cashier in Meadowbrook and for North American Van Lines as a packer. She was a member of Faith Fellowship in Alton. She was involved in a bible study and she enjoyed flowers, gardening and most of all her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Donna McEwen of Bethalto; a son, Ronnie Reed of Brighton; four grandchildren and their spouses, Misty & Kerry Unthank, Josh & Autumn Reed, Ashley Lobos and Justin Reed; ten great grandchildren, Tylor Stell, Hunter, Josie, Mason and Lincoln Unthank, Madison and Logan Lobos, Austin, Ashton and Andon Reed; a sister and brother-in-law, Lawanda and George Hunter of Paris, MO and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, Hershal Lee Love
A memorial service will be at 4 pm Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Lifebrook Church in Bethalto with Pastor Lori Alhers officiating.
A graveside memorial service will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Elizabethtown, Illinois.
Memorials may be made to Faith Fellowship in Alton.
