Lonnie E. Pollard, age 73, of East Alton, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017, at Meridian Village.
He was born July 2, 1944, in Alton, the son of Major and Sabra (Ballard) Pollard. He married Nancy Baker in 1967 in Jeffersonville, IN and she survives.
Lonnie had worked as a band director and was a successful salesman. He later became the owner of USA Fundraisers. He loved music and baseball. His greatest joy was his family.
In addition to his wife, Nancy; he is survived by a son, Stan Pollard of East Alton; a daughter and her husband, Lisa and Todd Fuller of Chesterfield, MO; two sisters, Ruth Kessinger and Jeanie “Dude” Agee, both of Brighton; and three grandchildren, Jonathan, Justin, and Megan.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, James Lee Pollard.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 3 to 7:00 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 14, 2017 at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Gary Steffaniak officiating.
Burial will take place at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
